An extremely scarce waterline model in 1/1250 scale in metal by the well known German maker Wiking. Produced in the 1930s.

One of their very early models produced in the mid 1930s. The model is in excellent original finish, just a couple of tiny chips to paint and with nice bright paint still. With the factory applied name on the stern. Beneath the model the name is cast in and also 'DRGM' and 'Wiking Model' and intriguingly one side beneath the model there is 'Reichstag' written in Indian ink and which looks contemporary with the age of the model.

The model is complete with its box which is good, a little worn and with period writing on the front but with the dealers stamp on the side still just  visible which looks like Hari___ Nonn and possibly 'Kiel'.  The ships name is stil clearly stamped on the end of the box and the front depicts the pre-war anchor logo.

A very interesting piece of waterline history -getting on for 90 years old and pretty difficult to find another I would think. All for the price of less than a modern German battleship model.
